From The Blue Planet, the flag of Turkey, one of 192 small watercolors of the world's flags painted indigo blue. This body of work though begun years ago has become resonant in a new way due to the global pandemic. Our planet is both more united and divided. Removing color from the flags reveals a shared imagery of stars, moons, suns and stripes creating moving skyscapes and landscapes. These paintings express the loss and grief over the number of people who have died and are suffering in the world due to Covid 19.
